Lumbar radiculopathy is the name giving to sensation of pain shooting from your back down one or both legs. It is usually caused by pinching or irritation of one or more of the spinal nerves in your back. This can be due to lumbar stenosis, lumbar herniated disc, lumbar spine fracture or lumbar spondylolisthesis. When the pain radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, it is also called sciatica.
