Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Intracerebral hemorrhage occurs when there is bleeding inside the brain. Intracerebral hemorrhage has different causes including trauma brain injury or hypertensive brain hemorrhage. This when the bleeding in the brain is caused by a blow to the head or high blood pressure.

Diagnosis

After doing a history and physical examination, your neurosurgeon may order a CT scan of your brain.

Treatment

Not everyone that has an intracerebral hemorrhage requires surgery. If surgery is required, your neurosurgeon may perform a craniotomy for evacuation of intracerebral hemorrhage.
